At Tango Berretin Milonga (Portland,OR)

Aca van algunas fotos de Tango Berretin, la milonga de Alex Krebs en Portland, OR, donde tocamos el sabado 18 de junio.

Beyond being the creator of Tango Berretin Milonga, a masterful tango dance teacher, bandoneon player and bandleader, Alex Krebs is an energetic and absolutely charming generator of ideas.

Kevin and I enjoyed enormously playing to the dancing of the super-cool audience that crowded his dance studio last Saturday. We also want to thank Joe Leonardo (on the sound, lighting and smiling loveliness) and to the well-known guest DJ Felipe Martinez.

The outside of Tango Berretin is covered by a mural by Remedios Rapoport, a filete artist who lives in Portland (more about her to come!)

This was a magical night – truly magical.

The music was generally ‘Piazzolla like’, wonderful danceable music; what I refer to as ‘succulent’ danceable music. Music with passion.

Tango Berretin was really packed; yet I had some of the best dances in recent memory; perhaps it was my partner, perhaps the music. Indeed, it was a unique combination of both I am sure. Certainly the best live succulent tango I’ve heard in a long long time.

    Fantastic Maria.
