The Blue Tango Tour showcases Maria’s new material fusing tango with Latin American rhythms, jazz and blues.
As Maria says, “Tango, like the blues, was born on the margins of society and steeped in sin. Powerful, intense and soulful, it dares to go to the darkest corners of our soul. The miracle is that it comes back wounded but rejuvenated, stripped of innocence but filled with an intense thirst for life.”
On this tour, Maria will be performing in duo with harmonica player Kevin Carrel Footer. For larger venues and festivals, they can be joined by a percussionist.

About Maria Volonte
Winner of the Gardel Prize, a Latin Grammy nominee and member of the Tango Hall of Fame, Maria Volonte is an Argentine singer, guitarist and composer celebrated for the intense emotion and beauty of her songs as well as for her charisma and sensuality on stage.
